The song was released on January 20, 2022.It was set to be a lead single from his upcoming studio album set to be released sometime in 2022. This sound gained popularity from Tiktok after Charlie made a post about it.
However , the song was written by Puth, Jacob Kasher Hindlin and Jake Torrey, and produced by Puth himself.
